Analipsi is located near Hersonissos town and approx. 23km east of Heraklion. The resort area is less developed and more peaceful than others in the vicinity which is why quite often, families choose to stay there. It originated as a location for farmers of Lassithi Plateau to move their cattle to in the winter months, looking quite different to today’s expanse of beachfront hotels, cafés and restaurants.
Analipsi beach is long, sandy and not too deep with a variety of water sports and amenities to suit everyone. Although not listed as one of the most picturesque, it offers a quiet and relaxing setting for sunbathing and any shops you may wish to visit are within walking distance along the promenade.
If spending all your holiday on the beach isn’t the ideal pastime for you, an active day’s walk through the Aposelemis canyon may be more appropriate. It may not have the Samaria gorge’s reputation but it is a fairly easy and quick trek, needing approx. a half day hike. Be sure to take water, a hat and comfortable shoes with you as there are certain large rocks to climb over and depending on the season, a little water stream runs through it too.
Last but not least, on the main street of Analipsi, one finds a hidden gem: the micro-brewery of Barbandonis! Meet the man behind the name who looks as jolly as his beers can make you. Try all three unfiltered beers: wheat, IPA and black stout. At a time when Greece’s brewery business is rapidly developing, get to know this family business before everyone else does!
We provide you Premium Insurance, with NO EXCESS & NO RISK ( FDW + CDW ), so you don’t have to worry for nothing! 24 hours road assistance is included in the unlikely event of a breakdown.
